The Greatest Show on Earth

I'll be the first to admit that it takes a mighty fine internet video clip to hold my attention for more than the time it takes for the knot at the top of my spine to fire off a few neurons, but let me say, this fit the bill. Sure not everyone is a Sonic aficionado, but we call those kind of people, well, wrong. This isn't just a video of Sonic. Oh no, it's a video of how the Almighty Himself meant for Sonic to be played... at Super Sonic speed! That's right, so fast that even the text describing it is blown over. Sure this is a little diversion from the regular mindless violence and comedic fare I regularly harp on, but have no fear, I promise to continue to retrieve the candy and leave the floss from the Dentist's good patient treasure trove we call the intarweb. Just this time, not everyone likes the Smarties.

The Hills are Alive

When someone says, "The Hills are Alive," of course the first thing we here at The Good Stuff think of is fleeing from the terrible onslaught of the man-eating dandelions. But after being calmed down by vivid memories of electroshock therapy, the correct answer floats into view like a will o' the wisp. It is indeed music! Music can tame the savage beast, a la Fluffy, and it can bring a smile to the face of the crazed but lovable cold blooded killer, a la Hannibal. What strange power it wields over us! So to help my faithful reader(s) further into a deep Wizard of Oz poppy induced sleep, I present these clips put to the music of the band Lemon Demon. Who is this band you ask? You may remember their music from such unparalleled awesomeness as The Ultimate Showdown. Today I stumbled upon their short, Snakes on a Plane, which is (get this) making fun of a movie that isn't even out of post-production! Yes, that *is* Good Eats! To add even more decadence I found that they have made several music videos of which my current favorite is entitled Word Disassociation. They remind me a lot of They Might Be Giants, and in fact, for some reason, this music video in particular. So mad props to EvilTrailMix.com! I'm going to make a new Links listing just for you!

What Makes the World Go Round

For some, Sunday is a day to relax, for others it is a time of worship, and for some of us, it is a great day to remind ourselves of the power and majesty of the almighty dollar. Yes, money does indeed at times seem to make the world go round, and we here at The Good Stuff are not oblivious to its siren call. What do I mean by this? Why, advertisements of course! They have the power to make us laugh, and make us cry just like any other art form, only they are usually made by souless marketeers who must feast upon the cash in our wallets in order to satisfy their zombie-like hunger. So here is the combined power of corporate America: Terry Tate the Office Linebacker from Reebok, Charades from National Car Rental, and finally a commercial from Burger King that is just perfect for a Sunday. It's blasphemariffic!

Wholesome Family Entertainment

A lot of people in America harp on the failings of society, the lack of family values, and the moral decay of the children. Sometimes, for a moment, I wonder if I should be doing more to encourage the youth of today to better themselves, do something with their life, and find inner peace. But then, thankfully, I come to my senses and realize that if you are reading this blog, it is already too late! So revel in the bottomless pit of despair and delicious cupcakes of web entertainment you already inhabit and check out these two fine examples of Winnie the Pooh gone horribly awry! The first is a tasteful piece based on the Academy Award winning family classic Apocalypse Now, the second is ... well, not tasteful at all (read: wonderfully hilarious), but if you are a budding conspiracy theorist, this will just prove everything you thought was true about Disney. The Good Stuff declares both of these short films to be so wholesome you'll get 110% of your daily recommended fiber. To take a quote from Mr. Men's Warehouse, "I guarantee* it!"

* not a guarantee
one other disclaimer: both films have strong language.
Who says I don't think of the childrens?

Viva the Revolution!

Keeping with the surrealistic theme of yesterday, I found yet another movie depicting the themes of the Simpsons in an entirely different universe. I have to say that the author of this flash animation certainly can draw, but I was unsure as to whether it really could be classified as good enough for The Good Stuff. Well, I have no more doubts after finding this jewel on his website. Now that's good stuff!

Go watch and learn things you never knew about the Simpsons and Japanese Animation. Not together of course. That would be surreal.

Until next time. Halibut!

This is not the Simpsons

Every now and then on the intarweb you find a picture or a movie that gives you a surrealistic experience. It leaves the viewer asking questions such as, "Is this real?" "Does this mean something?" "Can I get fries with that?" Well I found such a movie clip on good ol' Google Video. It makes you reevaluate what is real in this world and what isn't. The first time I saw it, I spent the rest of the afternoon believing I was seeing drippy clocks everywhere. In fact, even now, I'm not entirely sure this blog exists.

Furious Candy

Ever since the fateful evening where a group of unsuspecting youth were horrifically attacked by the now infamous Furious Cake, some of the survivors have wondered what other foods would be like if they became furious. The class is still out on the furious burrito, but I believe I have found what the furious candy bar would be. Watch today's Strong Bad Email on Homestarrunner to find out!

Rehash

It takes a lot of web surfing to separate the candy coated dollups of good entertainment from the lint in this large pant-pocket we call the intarweb. Luckily, I don't have to do it alone. One of our many undercover ninja operatives, who shall only be known as The Hawaiian, journeyed for days through unspeakable horrors to bring two precious gems of wonder for all to see. Or maybe he slept in and surfed the web for a few hours. Either way...

The first, and most hilarious, is the infamous Leeroy Jenkins movie. Sure, after doing some careful research you can find that it has been an internet phenomenon for many a month now... but that's not really the point is it? I hadn't seen it after all!

The second, and most mind blowing, is the long clip of Will Wright's 2005 Game Developer Conference presentation on his upcoming game Spore. Of course Will couldn't of busted this out back in 2002 when I actually went to the GDC, but I'll forgive him for this only because Spore is going to be an awesome game.

So go now my faithful reader(s) and enjoy these movies. Indeed, some of you may have already witnessed the greatness of these clips, but I had to post them anyway. Why? Because statistically speaking the majority of the world hasn't seen either of these, let alone used a computer for the first time. What if the first site on the whole intarweb that one of these folks surfed to was this one? How would they ever find out about these? I just can't take that chance.

Definitely not Kosher

I first found this video posted on Guy Fawkes' blog and it is what led me to search through Google Video yesterday in the first place. I was unable to find the Allah House Rave, as Guido so put it, but oh wonders of wonders, I stumbled upon it today.

So here you go. Not quite as funny as the numa numa guy but it's on the list of movies made even better by music.

Nobodies Shorts

Ever since I first saw Tomorrow's Nobodies on Newgrounds, I make it a point to check in and see how they are progressing on the next episode (ie. whenever the thought arises from the murky waters of my mind like a hippo*). So, according to their ever accurate meter, they are 70% complete with episode 4. That really isn't important though. What *is* important is that they had two Nobodies Shorts that I had not seen yet. Sure, maybe you have seen them, and if you have why didn't you let me know? Go watch them for some quick entertainment. Or don't. See if I care.

* With apologies to Terry Pratchett for mangling his quote.

Extra bonus! Watch some of the other cartoons on their site as well. Such as this one if you DARE!

Internet + Conspiracy Theories = Good Stuff

I love good conspiracy theories as much as the next guy, so much to my delight the intarweb is making it easier and easier to make wonderfully entertaining conspiracy theories available at my fingertips. This sure beats AM radio any day!

The New World Order

This movie reminded me a lot of the Pentagon Strike flash that circulated about a year or so ago. I don't know why, I was convinced the music was similar... but it isn't.

Enjoy!

The Beginning

There have always been hilarious movies, clips, flash animations, and pictures on the intarweb. This is a blog I am going to use to post the ones I like. That's right. If you don't think something I link to on here is cool, then start your own blog.

Let's start today with some most excellent stuff I found on Google Video.

This is one of the reasons why NYC is one of the greatest cities on Earth

This is just ridonculous

oh my goodness, this has to be the most horrible thing I've ever seen (meaning deliciously hilarious), make sure you watch it until the end

this one is crazy, I love seeing the bus fishtail

and finally, I have to post something educational, otherwise all of this time spent would be a complete waste...

Japanese laundry folding

mmm yes, most excellent
